Hey I'm Kent! I am a Missionary Associate with AGWM appointed to Convoy of Hope Europe as the Feeding Initiatives Program Manager.

The Mission

Partnering with local churches and Christian non-profits for community development in impoverished areas in Europe. Our local partners focus on long term community development from Portugal to the borders of Ukraine. Eastern Europe is surviving in the aftermath of Communism and refugees from the Middle East and North Africa. These three main groups have been left vulnerable experiencing extreme poverty and despair.

Evangelicals and Pentecostals account for less than 3% of Europeans, there is growth happening. God is moving!  There are groups of believers and pastors across Europe who are passionate about seeing change in their communities.  Convoy of Hope partners with those individuals to bring about a transformational change in their communities.  Our team is constantly strategizing how we can implement and improve integrated programming projects that focus on agriculture, empowerment and child feeding programs.  The aim of these projects is to serve as tools for the local church to combat physical poverty and spiritual poverty with the mission of bringing about long term transformative change. We are currently feeding 200 children a day in a community with over 85% unemployment.

The Purpose

The Need

1) PRAYER: Please pray for our team and our partners that we would find favor with governments and local community leaders to be able to work with people without hindrance.  Please pray that we would employ the best strategies when working with people to bring significant long term community development to change the direction of their lives.  Pray for the softening of hearts to be receptive to the Gospel and love of Christ as our partners spend time ministering and investing in these people that God loves dearly.

2) GIVE: As a missionary associate, my ability to go and serve is dependent on financial support.  I am in need of individuals who want to partner to advance this work in Europe.  Every gift is a blessing whether small or large, whether one time or recurring.

3) BE PASSIONATE:  God is calling us to be a part of his redemptive work in this world.  Look for opportunities to pour into the lives of people that God has brought into your life whether they be family members, neighbors, friends or strangers.  Read John 15: 1 – 17.

A FEW DAYS IN MELILLA

Along the coast in Melilla, many minors make their temporary homes in the caves in the rocks. These minors are fleeing violence and poverty from around North Africa trying to make their way to Europe where they believe once they get into Europe they will be able to find jobs and a better life. Having arrived in this port city, they discover an unpleasant reality. It’s not legal for kids to sleep on the streets and if they are caught at night they will be rounded up and taken to the refugee center. However, the refugee center is a already a hub for a criminal cartel involved in drugs and human trafficking.

Hope for Moldova

Moldova is a beautiful country with one foot in the past under the shadows of Orthodox churches and Lenin statues. The other foot is striding forward as the country moves forward into the future to form a new identity. The question is what will that be?
